FASCIOUS reminds the crowd the power of words
On Thursday January 8, 2008, hip-hop and spoken word activist FASCIOUS from the Bronx NYC, held a workshop on self expression and social change at the Brown Beret meeting space. The meeting space was packed with students and members of the community. Many participants shared about personal struggles and experiences. FASCIOUS shared work from his recent play Penumbra and participants contributed their skills at the open mic segment. According to Manny, a young aspiring rap artist, “The evening was powerful and uplifting.”
