The Watsonville Brown Berets have teamed up with the Bike Church from Santa Cruz and have committed to offer Watsonville folks some free and reduced bicycles, as well as free bike repair services. The project will be conducted every Friday (starting April 13th) outside the Brown Beret Headquarters (406 Main St., Suite 408A — behind Ritmo Latino) and is open to volunteers and participants.

We have decided that the strong presence of bicycles in the community would be essential in a community with a large number of undocumented workers who cannot legally obtain a driver’s license, as well as for all the homies who can’t afford an expensive car and would rather sport a beach cruiser.
