Mexicah Tiahui, you have reached the Website of the Autonomous Chapter of the Watsonville Brown Berets. Activated in 1994, we serve as a community defense force acting for the liberation and amelioration of our barrios.
On April 25, 2009, the Watsonville Brown Berets marked their 15th-year anniversary by hosting a dinner and celebration for the community.
MoreIn 1967, young Chicanas and Chicanos from the barrios of East Los Angeles came together and established the Brown Berets in order to address issues that were impacting their communities negatively. The Brown Berets fought against police harassment, inadequate public schools and education, the lack of political representation and the Vietnam War draft.

“From the Ghetto to Gaza” speaking tour is being organized so Mutulu Olugbala aka M1, 1/2 of the revolutionary rap group Dead Prez can share his recent experience in Gaza, Cairo and Europe and compare it with ghetto life in the black communities in the United States.
